The Dental Lease: Often Better than a Mortgage
This week I learned that 60% of dentists responding to my survey own their dental practice facilities, and 40% lease. Frankly, I’m surprised more dentists don’t lease. I’m not personally a fan of buying and owning your building because it’s an added complication to liquidation upon sale or transfer of your practice. Click to continue to article…

Survey: Dentists and Commercial Real Estate
Three out of five dentists own their dental practice facilities, while the
remaining 40% rent. Fortunately, only 4% of dentists are worried about their business mortgages. “Commercial real estate is going to be the next shoe to fall,” declared a Florida dentist. “It may be possible to use this period to do some renegotiating.”  Click to continue to article…

Dental Patient Awarded $15M for Malpractice

But, you know, when the going gets a little rough, that’s when my best marketing and practice-building “Eureka!” moments happen. For me, those moments started popping last September when I saw, like you probably did, this crisis looming. Click if you’re intrigued…

General Dentists Not Sure ADA Represents Them
We asked dentists if the ADA is dominated by specialists who are trying to promote their own agendas and not necessarily the welfare of the general dentist. Nearly two-thirds of respondents said, “Yes! Specialists and their associations are using the ADA so they can make more money – at the expense of general dentists, of course.” Click to watch the video…

Video: TV Cosmetic Dentists Do Some Good
Are celebrity cosmetic dentists good for the profession? In this survey, two out of three dentists said they are. Most feel that media exposure only makes the public more aware of what a cosmetic dentist can offer. The remaining 38% of dentists feel that these docs are pushing appearance over health.
