The Wealthy Dentist Survey Results: Wisdom Teeth
Half of Dentists Refer out Most Wisdom Tooth Removals
In our most recent survey, we asked dentists what percentage of wisdom tooth removals they
refer to an oral surgeon. Overall, half of our dentist respondents refer out 80% or more third molar extractions. Some dentists were grateful to be rid of most or all wisdom teeth cases, while other dentists prefer to refer only the most complicated cases. “That’s what oral surgeons are for!” exclaimed a California dentist who refers out all removals. Said a Mississippi dentist, “I am grateful to have a source to refer things that are more difficult than I am comfortable doing.”

Scottish Actor McAvoy Won’t Fix His Teeth
James McAvoy may be only 28, but he’s already starred opposite Forest Whittaker in last year’s The Last King of Scotland. He’s an attractive Scottish man with fans both male and female. He’s poised to launch onto the Hollywood scene, but he’s refusing on principle to get cosmetic dentistry. When asked if he was ever going to get his teeth fixed, the actor replied, “Only when they fall out.”
